VIP RECEPTION: 2008 Senior Show Preview

Join Moore’s graduating seniors for a chance to purchase original work by emerging artists and designers, review design presentations and recruit creative talent representing all of Moore’s departments: Art Education, Art History, Curatorial Studies, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Photography & Digital Arts, and Textile Design.

ART FOR LUNCH: STUDENT VIDEOS ON VIEW
Tuesday, May 6,11:45am - 12:30pm

Students in Moore’s Photography and Digital Arts class Moving Images I, present projects that investigate narrative and conceptual ideas by using time and motion in digital video productions. Moving Images I, taught by Kara Crombie, is an introductory course in video art designed to instruct students in the creation of artistic ideas in moving media.

CLOSING RECEPTION: 2008 Senior Show
Sunday, May 18, 1 - 3pm

The culmination of four years of intensive training, the annual exhibition is an opportunity for the Philadelphia community to view work by seniors graduating from Moore's Bachelor of Fine Arts programs. The exhibit features work by each of the College's seniors, representing the Fine Arts, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Textile Design, Illustration, Art Education and Art History majors.

MAPPING MEMORIES - COLLAGE WORKSHOP
Wednesday, May 21, 1 - 3pm

The Galleries at Moore, in participation with the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s sixth annual Seniors Celebrate the Arts program will be holding a Collage Art Workshop on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 1 – 3pm in the Levy Gallery for the Arts in Philadelphia.

Participants in the Mapping Memories – Collage Workshop will create collage works using local newspaper and magazine clippings, event announcements and signs, paper, cloth, and other media to create a composite image that represents a visual response to Philadelphia’s diverse community as well as personal memories of people, places and events that have shaped the city.

Community CoLAB: Art is Ageless, A Video Dialogue by Seniors and Students

Wednesday, May 21, 2008, 3 - 4pm

The Galleries will have on view (in conjunction with Mapping Memories – Collage Workshop) works by residents of Atria Senior Living Center, Philadelphia created over the course of 7 weekend art classes held at Moore College of Art & Design and taught by students in Moore’s Art Education Special Population course.

There will also be screening Art is Ageless, A Video Dialogue by Seniors and Students, an artistic collaboration between The Galleries at Moore, Moore’s Art Education students, and residents of the Atria Senior Living Center.
