On the occasion of Moore's Sesquicentennial, conceptual and
performance artist Andrea Fraser used the college's archive to
examine Moore's history of educating women in the arts. In her
exhibition and catalog, Fraser juxtaposed the documents that
outline the institution's ethos with selected historical
examples of student work. The result is a compelling commentary on the
rhetoric and reality of this institution's unique mission and history.
The introduction is by Andrea Fraser and the catalog incorporates text selected by her from the
Moore College archives, 1848*#150;1998.
