Catalog for the exhibition which originated at the Galleries at Moore
(November 2December 18, 1984) and traveled to Pittsburgh
Center for the Arts, (January 5February 3, 1985) and Erie Art Museum,
(March 17April 21, 1985).
The catalog presents a collection of works by West Coast artist
Viola Frey: three large-scale clay figures,
twelve clay plates, five bricolage assemblages and nine oil paintings.
It includes a discussion of Frey's history as an artist and her work with
essays by Garth Clark, ceramic scholar and director of the Garth Clark
Galleries in New York and Los Angeles, and by Patterson Sims, associate
curator of the permanent collection at the Whitney Museum of Modern Art.
